His tour of duty was in Vietnam 1968-69 where he served as an SPF4 in the US Army’s 199th Light Infantry Brigade…. known as The Redcatchers.

Both of them served during WWII. They met while stationed in San Diego, CA. MY mother is not in uniform in the picture with my dad because she was not suppose to be seen in uniform in public with him, because she outranked him. My mom served as a US Navy nurse.

All three were in the Army - Sam in Germany during WWI; Clem in Germany, post-WW2; Richard in Germany during WW2 (his unit helped release prisoners in Dachau).
